With the departure of "Mr D" (Darryl Diment) at the end of 2009, Winchelsea Primary School has welcomed Acting Principal Karen Turner along with a few other new staff.

Karen says;

"I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to the Winchelsea Community. I have been appointed to the position of Acting Principal for Term 1 2010 and I am very keen and enthusiastic to be given the opportunity to work with the students, teachers and wider community. I have vast experience in classroom teaching and in a range of leadership roles within many schools. I have spent time at Moriac, Torquay, Clifton Springs, Drysdale, Leopold and Queenscliff Primary Schools.

Please feel free to introduce yourself as I would love to get to know you. I encourage you to speak to me if you have any concerns or issues regarding your children. I will always give you the time so we can work through any problems."

Other newcomers to the school include Jasmine Tozer (Grade 1), Rochelle Clark (Grade 5), Lisa Gilmour (Literacy Coach Tuesdays,
Wednesdays, Thursdays), Rosalie Scott (Welfare Officer Wednesdays, Fridays) and Pam Lea (Integration Term 1), and Rochelle O'Mara (Music, Thursdays).

This year a Classroom Music, Choir and Instrumental Program will be run on Thursdays. Rochelle O'Mara will be taking the Music program and Tiffany Eckhart will be taking Choir at Lunchtime for all children interested in Grades 3-6 and also looking at starting a choir for students from Prep – Year 2 but this will not begin until later in the year. Tiffany is also offering instrumental lessons in Voice (singing), Guitar, Ukulele, and Beginner Piano.
