The Riverlee Art Gallery in Winchelsea opened Saturday 10th October, on a beautiful sunny spring day. Situated right on the Princes Highway on the way into Winchelsea, the gallery's walls are filled with artwork by local artists - a superb range of collections in differing media and very different subjects.

With easy parking for anyone passing through Winchelsea, and near to the several antique shops that are a feature of Winchelsea, Riverlee Art Gallery is well worth a stop and a browse.

The Gallery will be open every weekend, run by volunteers and is situated just next to the Winchelsea Tavern. The art scene in Winchelsea has seen a significant boost over the last year or so, with a number of venues displaying local art - the Winchelsea Tavern itself, the Winchelsea Larder cafe & shop in the main shopping string, and a display space in Barwon Park Mansion.

The opening day for Riverlee Art Gallery featured a couple of restored steam tractors which were driven in from just outside Winchelsea, and a sausage sizzle in aid of Winchelsea's Helen Mary Kininmonth Kindergarten. A great day for the launch of Winchelsea's own Art Gallery!
