Bay FM Comes To Town

Photo of Laurie & Paula at Bay FMGeelong-based radio station Bay FM came to Winchelsea as part of their "20 OBs in 20 Days" program. Broadcasting their Breakfast Show from 6am to 10pm from Winchelsea Primary School's playground, Winchelsea residents were entertained with competitions, news, chat and interviews with locals by Laurie & Paula.

Bay FM is celebrating its 20th birthday with 20 outside broadcasts (OBs) in 20 days across the southwest region.

Principal Darryl Diment joined, taking a quiz but not quite taking the prize. Darryl was also grateful to the Winchelsea Lions Club for their assistance at short notice, providing their "Chuck Wagon" ; "I would like to acknowledge the fantastic work of the Lions Club who during our Bay FM broadcast last week provided a wonderful breakfast. Until I became principal I had no idea of the tremendous community support they provide. The Lions Club is also generously providing our students with three guided reading tables. These tables allow students to sit up while reading a shared book with the teacher. For many senior students it is difficult to be on the floor. Well done to our students who appeared on Bay FM reading the weather, answering questions and winning prizes. They certainly did a better job than me!"
